Liposuction
The more common areas that fat deposits collect during pregnancy are the thighs, buttocks, abdomen and hip area. No matter how much you work out or diet, it is a challenge to get back to your pre-baby weight. Liposuction is a permanent way to spot remove these fatty pockets. It is not a weight loss method.
Abdominoplasty

Your breasts gain volume as your belly grows and then, they are responsible for feeding the baby over the next several months. Tallahassee Cosmetic Surgery - LatisseTM Eyelash Enhancement
What is LATISSETM?
LATISSETM solution is a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker, and darker.
Eyelash hypotrichosis is another name for having inadequate or not enough eyelashes.
How does it work?
LATISSETM is believed to affect the growth (anagen) phase of the eyelash hair cycle in 2 ways: first, it increases the length of this phase; and second, it increases the number of hairs in this growth phase. The exact way it works is unknown.
How soon will I see results?
The onset of effect with LATISSETM solution is gradual. In clinical trial, the majority of LATISSETM users saw a significant improvement by 2 months.
How is LATISSETM different?
Only LATISSETM has been approved by the FDA as a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes. It also has been studied in clinical trial to demonstrate its safety and effectiveness.
Can anyone use LATISSETM?
You should not use LATISSETM solution if you are allergic to one of its ingredients. Also, tell your doctor or eye care specialist if any of the following apply to you:
- Previously diagnosed with eye pressure problems: People with a history of eye pressure problems (specifically elevated intraocular pressure) should speak to an eye care specialist before starting LATISSETM
- Currently taking medication for eye pressure problems: People taking medication to lower their IOP should be closely monitored while using LATISSETM solution
- Have risk factors for glaucoma: People with risk factors for an eye condition called glaucoma, including a family history of glaucoma, should speak to an eye care specialist before starting LATISSETM
Is LATISSETM safe?
The safety and effectiveness of LATISSETM was shown in a clinical trial. Ask your doctor for more information about the safety of LATISSETM solution, and see the Important Safety Information on the back cover of this brochure.
What are the possible side effects with LATISSETM?
The most common side effects after using LATISSETM are eye itching or eye redness. These were reported by about 4% of users in clinical trial.1 LATISSETM solution may cause other less common side effects, which typically occur on the skin close to where LATISSETM is applied, or in the eyes. These include skin darkening, eye irritation, dryness, or redness of the eyelids.
If you develop a new eye condition (like an eye trauma or infection), experience a sudden decrease in vision, have eye surgery, or develop any eye reactions, particularly an infection and eyelid reactions, you should immediately talk to your doctor about whether or not to continue using LATISSETM solution.

Jayne H. Mittan, Certified Physician Assistant
Jayne, a Lakeland, Florida native, received her B.S. degree from Florida State University and later went on to the University of Florida to graduate from it’s acclaimed Physician Assistant program. Jayne is a member of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants and served as president in 2002. In addition to assisting our three board certified plastic surgeons, Jayne is also involved with our Botox® Friday program and other anti-wrinkle injectables including dermal fillers Restalyne® and Radiesse®.
Susan Owens, licensed esthetician
Susan Owens has assisted post-surgical patients skin care patients at Tallahassee Plastic Surgery Clinic since 1999 and is the senior esthetician with Physicians’ Skin Care Clinic. With more than 20 years of experience in the field of beauty, skin care and fashion, Susan performs skin care evaluations and the full array of skin care treatments. A former professional fashion model, Susan also consults with post-operative patients and provides make-up lessons and applications to further enhance their newly refreshed appearance.
Julie Moss, licensed esthetician
Julie Moss also offers extensive experience as she first began her training and career in the skin care industry more than 20 years ago in New York City, where she spent seven years working in the industry. A Tallahassee resident since 1995, Julie joined Physicians’ Skin Care Clinic in 2007. A former professional fashion model, Susan also consults with post-operative patients and provides make-up lessons and applications

Jayne H. Mittan, Certified Physician Assistant
Jayne, a Lakeland, Florida native, received her B.S. degree from Florida State University and later went on to the University of Florida to graduate from it’s acclaimed Physician Assistant program. Jayne is a member of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants and served as president in 2002. In addition to assisting our three board certified plastic surgeons, Jayne is also involved with our Botox® Friday program and other anti-wrinkle injectables including dermal fillers Restalyne® and Radiesse®.

Tallahassee Brachioplasty – Arm Lift Surgery
Tallahassee, Dothan, Thomasville, Panama City and Destin plastic surgery patients come to Tallahassee Plastic Surgery Clinic for arm lift surgery, which removes sagging skin on the upper arms due to aging, genetics, or weight loss. The intended results of an arm lift (brachioplasty) plastic surgery procedure is to reduce or eliminate excess skin from the upper arms. The result is a more toned, youthful appearance.
After an arm lift patients often report that they are more comfortable in the fit of long-sleeved clothing, and that they feel better about their appearance in short-sleeved and sleeveless apparel. Patients often report increased self-confidence overall as a result of a successful brachioplasty procedure.

This 50 year old woman underwent a belt lipectomy to remove the excess waistline skin that resulted after massive weight loss (she lost 70 pounds after a stomach stapling procedure.) This "around-the-world" tummy tuck places the incision in the lower abdomen and runs all the way around to the back to help lift the hip and buttock skin as well. Ear surgery, or otoplasty, is usually done to set prominent ears back closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears.

Graduating first in his high school class, he attended Emory University on merit scholarship to complete his degree in Biology. At Emory he again graduated with the highest GPA (4.0) and number one ranking in his class, which helped him earn the prestigious Woodruff Scholarship to Emory University School of Medicine. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and graduated Magna Cum Laude (with Honors). He remained at Emory University to complete his residency in plastic surgery. The division of plastic surgery at Emory University is world renown for innovations and leadership in both reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. Dr. Paredes brought this special experience to Tallahassee in 2003.
Dr Paredes is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery and the prestigious Jurkiewicz Society. Dr. Louis Hill
H. Louis Hill Jr. M.D. is a native Tallahassee plastic surgeon and graduated from Leon High School class of 1963. He pursued his pre-medical education at Davidson College. In 1971, Dr. Hill received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. After completing his surgical internship at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida, he returned to Atlanta to complete his general surgery residency and plastic surgery fellowship at Emory University.
Dr. Hill, who has been in private practice since 1978 with Tallahassee Plastic Surgery Clinic, specializes in cosmetic surgery of the face and breast, body sculpturing and reconstructions following removal of skin cancer. Dr. Hill is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the highly respected American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Larry Harper
Larry Harper M.D., FACS the Tallahassee plastic surgeon, is also a native Floridian, grew up in Wakulla County, Florida. His roots run deep in our community as his father served as a judge in Florida’s Second Judicial Circuit Court and his paternal grandfather was a physician in Wakulla County for many years. A 1987 graduate of Florida State University, Dr. Harper received his medical degree in 1991 from the University of Florida College of Medicine. In 1996, he completed his general surgery residency at the University of South Alabama Medical Center followed by a plastic surgery residency at Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Harper joined Tallahassee Plastic Surgery Clinic in 2000, and his special interests are breast augmentation and reconstructive surgery and body contouring which includes abdominoplasty, liposuction and thigh lifts. Dr. Harper is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the highly respected American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Alfredo Paredes
Alfredo Paredes Jr. M.D. the third Tallahassee plastic surgeon at the clinic, was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and grew up in nearby Dothan, Alabama. In 1993, Dr Paredes received his undergraduate degree from Emory University with the distinction of class valedictorian. He attended Emory University School of Medicine as a prestigious Woodruff Scholar, graduating with honors in 1997. In 2003, Dr. Paredes completed his residencies in general and plastic surgery at Emory University, and then he joined Tallahassee Plastic Surgery Clinic.
Dr. Paredes’ special interests include cosmetic surgery, body lifts, and breast augmentation and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Paredes is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is also a member of the highly respected American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
